"I stood near the front with a huge smile, the wash of music making me feel like my face was being blown back. It was definitely the loudest and one of the most exciting things I'd seen in Oslo". RCRDLBL
Norway's most exciting new band are releasing their phenomenal debut EP through Deadly Records in January. Hailing from idyllic Bergen (Royksopp, Datarock, Casiokids, Kings Of Convenience and Ida Maria), they're a somewhat supergroup comprising of Richard Myklebust of Stereo21, Linn Frokedal and Njaal Clementsen both of post-kraut rockers The Low Frequency In Stereo and Fredrik Vogsborg of Casiokids.
The Megaphonic Thrift are like a 2010 version of their inspired pop shoegaze influencers such as Sonic Youth, Built To Spill, Dinosaur Jr, Guided By Voices and My Bloody Valentine.
Live, they're a phenomenal proposition and recently were named "Best New Live Band" at the Norwegian Music Awards. They're also bloody loud.
The vinyl version of the EP is part of the hugely collectable Deadly vinyl series which has seen all previous releases (O. Children, Subway, Cartridge & The Golden Filter) sold out on release.
