Rencontres dans un camp scout, Alex Trimble (chant, clavier et programmation) et Kevin Baird (basse) se perdent de vue quelques annees, mais se retrouvent par l'intermediaire de Sam Halliday (guitare). Les trois nord-irlandais sont alors prets pour former Two Door Cinema Club en 2007.
Remarque par le label Kitsune grace au titres postes sur sa page MySpace, le groupe est invite a jouer et transforme l'audition en contrat. Un excellent premier single, le sautillant ? Something Good to Work ?, fait son apparition en avril 2009. A l'automne, Two Door Cinema Club remplace La Roux au pied leve lors du festival des Inrockuptibles, et gagne l'attention du public par sa prestation enlevee. En novembre sort ? I Can Talk ? et ses remixes. Le post-punk tout en levitation de TDCC fait des vagues quand la BBC le classe dans ses favoris de l'annee 2010.
Apres avoir remixe le ? Lasso ? de Phoenix, le trio enregistre son premier album aux studios Eastcote de Londres en compagnie d'Eliot James, et confie le mixage a Philippe Zdar, installe dans son studio flambant neuf. Le resultat tres attendu, baptise Tourist History, sort le 1er mars 2010, precede du single ? Undercover Martyn ?.

Hailing from Bangor, Northern Ireland, TDCC are vocalist/guitarist Alex Trimble, bassist Kevin Baird and guitarist Sam Halliday. Their limited edition debut single ? ?Something Good Can Work? - released earlier this year, had a surfeit of ideas and a bona fide pop melody that bounces, swings AND rocks, sounding both sweet and jittery, dreamy and urgent. TDCC?s debut album, to which they?re currently putting the finishing touches with Phillppe Zdar on mixing duties, simply times that by ten... Slated for release in February 2010, TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB will be keeping themselves very busy in the meantime... First up is the KITSUNE TOUR with TDCC hitting the road with label-mates DELPHIC in late October.
