Impulsion is Christophe Monier and DJ Pascal R. Active during the 90s, the band is associated with the French touch movement. One of his songs is featured on the seminal compilation ?Aline Can Dance? and his sleeves are created by the renowned design agency M/M Paris (some of these covers are now shown in the exhibition ?French Touch, graphisme, video, electro? at the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs in Paris).
In England, the group is also associated with the big beat movement. Two EPs are out on Loaded, a label of Brighton, and the track ?Rock That House Musiq? become one of the anthems of the genre. It will illustrate a few years later a scene of anthology in the movie ?It?s All Gone Pete Tong?. At the same time in London, The Chemical Brothers play in almost all of their sets another piece of Impulsion, ?Higher Hard Instrumental?, which they make their own with an edit titled ?Clenched Fist?.
In 1998 is released the album ?Love Addict? on Small, a division of Sony France. It is reissued the following year by the UK label Independiente. Album of the week in the NME, it boasts a laudatory review written by journalist Piers Martin.
