The Micronauts & Bosco
The Micronauts and Bosco, two well known French EDM artists, have teamed up to write their new song ?Hoochie Coochie?, a blend of leftfield electro techno and acid rock. Adding to the single is 'Bosco Kick It Version', on a new beat/nu disco/indie dance tip, and a music video directed by Sebastien Desmedt & Thomas Lemoine.
At the origin of the song, a dirty bass line, improvised by Christophe Monier (aka The Micronauts) with the game-synth Korg DS-10 on the Nintendo DS of his daughter. And for the finish, some of the odd plug-ins and other freewares which haunt his computers. Between the two and away from that playful and computerized vibe, Bosco write lyrics forbidden to children, and supplement the song by using some of the vintage classics populating their studio for big boys: Akai MPC2000, Eventide H3000 SE, Lexicon 200, Oberheim DX, Roland Juno 106, not forgetting the famous Korg MS-10, having precisely been used as model for the game DS-10.
THE MICRONAUTS:
The Micronauts is the solo project of composer and producer Christophe Monier. He decided to become a musician at age 4 after listening to ?The Firebird? by Igor Stravinsky. Then he learned classical piano, classical and jazz guitar. One of his professors in college of art was Iannis Xenakis. Monier is also half of the deep house band Rituel and runs the label Micronautics. Other projects he was involved are Discotique, The Eurostars, Impulsion and Nature.
The Micronauts begin in the mid 90s as a duet made of Christophe Monier and George Issakidis. The first track, ?Get Funky Get Down?, is also the first track to be remixed by Daft Punk. Quickly it?s the turn of The Micronauts to remix many artists, such as The Chemical Brothers, OMD, Underworld and Death In Vegas. Follows the signing on Science, a sub-label of Virgin UK, and the release of the single ?The Jag? in 1999, with a music video made by Hollywood director Gregg Araki. The beginning of 2000 sees the release of the mini-album ?Bleep To Bleep?, including the track ?Baby Wants To Bleep?.
In the middle of 2000, Christophe Monier decides to pursue solo the adventure The Micronauts. He remixes Madonna and Mirwais, amongst others. In 2004, he launches the label Micronautics to release its own material without intermediary, in real time. The label?s style is typical of The Micronauts, an eclectic mixture of house, techno and electro, tending heavily toward acid and experimental sounds. Success is immediate thanks to ?High Rise?, a hit on the underground techno scene.
Two years later, Vitalic?s label Citizen Records signs The Micronauts, and Micronautics is paused. A double CD is released in September 2007, made of a new album, ?Damaging Consent?, and of the compilation ?A Remixes Retrospective?. On the album is included the song ?Reaction?, which has a music video directed by Danakil (aka Cyrille de Vignemont).
After a period spent working as a producer, remixer and sound engineer, Christophe Monier relaunches his label Micronautics in 2012. Still centered on his music, the label is now open to his collaborations with other artists. And the first release of this new series is The Micronauts & Bosco ?Hoochie Coochie?.

BOSCO:
Stephane Bodin and Francois Marche are Bosco, an electro duo whose sound ranges from lo-fi music to neo 80s synthpop, influenced by Ptose, The Residents or Beastie Boys.
They start in the late 90s and release two albums on the label Platinum, of Bordeaux (Curtis, Rubin Steiner). Then in 2001, they release the album "Action" on Catalog (Sporto Kantes, Telepopmusik, Williams Traffic), with Fred Schneider of The B 52's singing on a track. In 2002, they create the song "Novoscreen", with remixes by Marie Chantal (aka Chloe and Jennifer Cardini), Kiko and Queen Of Japan. In 2003, they work with Hedi Slimane, composing the soundtrack for a Dior Homme fashion show. Follows a long hiatus during which they form the band Prototypes with singer-performer Bubble Star and tour relentlessly in the US indie scene.
Bosco today produces albums for rock or electro rock bands, like The Magnetix and Frustration (Born Bad Records), Volt, Music Is Not Fun, etc. They have also just started a side project called Blackmail, with Sylvain Levene. A first EP was released in Decembre 2011 on the Parisian label Yuk-Fu, with remixes by Diplomatic Shit and Aladdin.

A l?origine de ce morceau, une ligne de basse crade a souhait, improvisee par Christophe Monier (alias The Micronauts) avec le jeu-synthe virtuel Korg DS-10, sur la Nintendo DS de sa fille. Et pour la finition, quelques-uns des plug-ins bizarres et autres freewares qui hantent ses ordis. Entre les deux et a contre-pied de cette direction ludique et informatique, les Bosco ecrivent un vocal interdit aux enfants et completent le titre en utilisant quelques-uns des classiques vintage peuplant leur studio de grands garcons : Akai MPC2000, Eventide H3000 SE, Lexicon 200, Oberheim DX, Roland Juno 106, sans oublier le fameux Korg MS-10 ayant justement servi de modele au jeu DS-10.
